p90x weekend!

Hello, readers!

I started p90x this weekend and I gotta tell you--I love it! I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a good, healthy ass-whooping. Tony Horton, keep up the good work, my friend. You are an inspiration and I love your positive energy. It's so motivating.

Hope everyone had a good week!

Day Before Weigh In

Hello, all! So far I have had quite the successful day. Aside from over sleeping by an hour. I ate healthy all day. After work, I ran some errands. When I got home, I wanted SO BADLY to nap. I sat on the couch for almost an hour debating whether or not I would take this nap. In the end, I went to the gym. Now I feel energized and ready for the rest of my night. Now if I could just keep convincing myself that I will feel more awake after going to the gym than after taking a nap, I'd be in good shape. Literally.

Boot Camp Recommendations?

I'm interested in starting a boot camp exercise program to really whip my butt into shape. Does anyone have any suggestions on websites, videos, etc that I can check out? PLEASE HELP!!!

Getting Back to Business

Hello, readers!! I haven't written in what feels like ages (I said that in my last blog too). I apologize! Rather than catching you up since my last post, I'll start with today.

I was feeling rather sluggish this morning. Read: I didn't want to do anything. It's cloudy with a chance of pure laziness out here. Then, I remembered that I wanted to go somewhere nice and warm for vacation. Where is that place? I don't know yet, but I know I want to wear a bathing suit when I get there. So what did I do? I got up and went to the gym. I rode the stationary bike for 35 minutes and hit the treadmill for 25, doing random intensities/inclines on both. I left the gym sweating like you wouldn't believe. It felt amazing. For lunch, I made myself a delicious lean cuisine pesto chicken panini (6 points) and microwaved a can of soup. I love soup. I firmly believe in its healing qualities. Before devouring it, I put it into my handy dandy points calculator. One can of this delicious Progresso Broccoli Cheddar Potato soup is 10 points. I expected it to be high. I ate half of it and put it back in the fridge. Hooray for will power! Now I'm ready for the rest of my afternoon.

Weigh Day!

I know I haven't blogged in what feels like ages, but I've been working so hard on life in general that I haven't gotten around to it. I promise to be more dedicated to the blog. However, I LOST 4 POUNDS THIS WEEK! Weight Watchers, you rock! I am THRILLED! Now I just need to keep going. I'm motivated to continue losing. I miss being skinny!!!!!! SO MUCH!

I started having coffee a few times a week, but I'm not drinking it everyday. I'm alternating between coffee and tea, and I'm still cutting back on soda. It probably helped with the loss this week, but I'm not ready to give it up entirely. I know I'm an extreme person, and if I give something up completely, the second I go back to it, I have much more than I should. Like most women my age, I struggle with moderation.

Have a good week everyone!

Zumba/Pilates/Yoga

I'd like to get into Zumba, Pilates, or Yoga. Does anyone have any recommendations for a DVD they really like? All of the Zumba DVDs I've seen don't seem appealing, and I haven't found any at Borders or Barnes & Noble, but everyone that does it RAVES about it!

I've had two VERY healthy days in a row. 5 servings of fruits & veggies yesterday, 4 servings today. Only drinking tea so far this week. I'm feeling pretty good! I didn't even need an afternoon nap today! I skipped the nap to go shopping instead. :) I'm hoping for a BIG LOSS this week! I need it.

Forgot to Weigh In

I forgot to hop on that scale before I ate breakfast. Yikes. I'll do it tomorrow.

To start the week off right, I am having two egg whites with low fat cheese, a slice of Weight Watchers whole grain bread, a banana, and a cup of tea. That's right, I'm still having tea instead of coffee. I had a cup of coffee mid-morning on Friday, and a cup Saturday afternoon, but other than that it's been strictly tea.

Yesterday, I tackled another evil: soda. I LOVE SODA, in all of its bubbly goodness. I love it. However, it kills my hydration level. Yesterday, I was having too many yummy juices, glasses of iced tea, and buckets (practically) of water to even want a can of soda. Can I do it again today? Perhaps. Do I want to? Hmmm...

Today, I'll be hitting the gym after work. I'd like to mix up my workout. Does anyone have any suggestions or workouts they love? I want something that really breaks a sweat! Even if your suggestion is not gym-related. Maybe you have a workout DVD you love. Tell me about it! Please! I need a new routine!

Healthy Foods

Hello, all! Sorry I haven't posted in so long! It has been so hectic here. I barely had time to go on the computer, but I hit the gym plenty of times!

Today I went to the grocery store and made so many healthy choices to eat this week. I bought fresh grapes and bananas, Sargento Light string cheese, Weight Watchers whole grain bread, Dannon Light-N-Fit yogurt, and diet green tea. Aside from counting points, I am trying to change my entire diet. I can eat 2 points worth of potato chips or 2 points worth of a potassium-filled banana, or a cup of grapes.

What types of foods do you stock up on when you're working on your health? Please comment!
